It passed. Now it goes to the Senate, and I expect it to pass. I would love to think it won’t but this reality of what I am seeing is hitting me hard.

People voted for healthcare without even knowing what will be on the final bill, and knowing voters want more information.

On the other note, it has been a rough weekend. I knew the Texan that was killed at Ft Hood. Nobody told me it was him till last night. He was a good PA, that helped people. Psychiatrists listen to many horrifying stories each and every day. If you think about all the abuse, emotional and physical that the docs listen to in order to treat patients the murderer decided to do this. Having worked for over 15 Psychiatrists I know first hand they know and are trained how to let stuff go. Also from an interview of his family member the man was telling stuff he was prevented from saying by patient confidentiality. No one in his family should know any detail from any patient he saw. It is a federal law to protect the patient.

I see him as a coward, and a murderer.

You can govern with 51%. Obama said it not a Republican. Now if only he can take his own advise.

That is John Cornyn’s words about what the healthcare bill in the Senate Finance Bill that Olympia Snowe voted yes on. The reason it was called Alice in Wonderland is because there is no actual written bill for the committee to read. And if there was, the bill is null and void as soon as the vote was over. Why because they will roll this crap bill into the other five bills that the Democrats love. The Republican bills have been ignored, any concept they both agree on like pre-existing conditions, is null and void.

In other words Snowe is believing in the fairies in the Senate. Somehow magical dust will fly from the sky and the cost will vanish. The taxes on a cadillac plan (like ours because we have dental coverage and low prescription copays) will magically vanish.

No it won’t, sorry Wonderland doesn’t exist. There are no magical fairies in the Senate. In the Senate we have men and women that may or may not represent what the people want.

We as the grassroots cannot let this dragon go. Since the CBO has some half good news, word is many blue dog democrats, and some republicans will vote yes on the national healthcare bill.

Even though for every medical procedure a patient has that the equipment is over $100.00 (many and vast) will be taxed. What it looks like is you will be paying for having insurance, getting less treatment, and be paying taxes on certain procedures you need no matter the reason why. Most women have a PAP smear, it is one that will be taxed because the kit is over $100.00.

Dick Morris had a great article on Snowe and Lincoln. Look HERE.

The Hill details the bill costs and analysis by CBO HERE.

If that is not enough look Rachel Maddow is even saying there is pressure.

Fraud I have seen first hand, where perfectly able bodied people walk into a hospital looking for drugs. While Medicaid was denying coverage of a cancer patients I knew personally. Sen John Cornyn spoke on this problem. Thanks John for listening to us!

This has to be fixed before any other public option or a national healthcare system be fixed.

Link to a new bill is at the bottom. Found it when I was researching another story.

As I write this midnight Wednesday night (don’t ask Gator wanted me to try Dublin Dr Pepper in a plastic bottle). There is no bill passed yet. I think with good reason this bill will be passed. It has a lot in it I am totally unhappy about.

The biggest thing I think the Baucus bill does is charge a fine for those that don’t carry insurance. It isn’t a little fine either, it can range from $750 to $3800.

There is no clause for insurance companies to sell across state lines, which would have brought in much more competition.

There is a pre-existing condition clause in it. This being said, I have not seen the actual bill. Just as NCLB was supposed to help parents, but for the most part has messed up education this could be the same deal.

There is a excise tax on “golden” insurance plans.

There is an expansion of Medicaid (translation states will be poorer because of it) Medicaid is provided by the states.

There are tax credits for businesses that provide insurance through 2013, after that I am sure we will all roll into public healthcare.

The rush to do a bill, without real debate on the floor, without real reading of the bill by the Senate much less the voter is never a good deal.

Good Laws take time and care, I have become a more vocal advocate of open door negotiations. I want to know exactly what the bill says and I don’t.

Wall Street Journal has a rundown of the bill. Look HERE.

It says no illegals will be covered or abortions, but remember we haven’t seen it and the only ones that actually know what it says aren’t saying enough for us to truly know what it says.

My feeling is it will pass, and we will wait to know what has happened to our healthcare.

Grassroots and Teaparty people are left out again.

Update: I do research for my blogs. Here is what I found while looking for something else. This bill was released Wednesday Morning it may or may not be the right Bill

Look HERE.
