Which brings me to my latest beef. I have been a big supporter for the Tea Parties. The reason being we are over taxed, and there is no end in sight. I have endorsed in the past a proposal that would allow Americans to drill off American shores, and in America that would make our dependence on foreign oil passe. Yeah baby I minored in French!
My support in the past has been taken advantage of by Republicans that think they can run on one thing, and become something else. I am deeply troubled by Newt Gingrich, it has been years that I have felt he is more of a hindrance than a helper for conservatives. This is not a personal attack but Newt was having an affair all the while he was attacking Clinton. Clinton made it an issue by having “relations” in the people’s Oval office. Clinton was more than fair game, but Newt needed to take out the log out of his eye before making any judgements. Newt also criticized Bush, all the while Newt could not be elected as the Republican Presidential candidate. He does not have what it takes to run the country. Newt doesn’t get grassroots, he talks a good game, has some good ideas but forgets the little guy. Take away Contract for America, he is nothing more than a former speaker of the House. The noose around Newt’s neck is Newt forgot where he came from when he was a place of power. No matter whether you agree with Bush or not, Bush did not sell out. He was the same man at the end of his presidency as at the beginning. Newt had changed wives, recently he has converted to Catholism from being a Baptist. He is not the same guy elected in 1978.
Tea Parties are grassroots. Newt has tried to take them and the Top Conservatives on Twitter as his sounding board. I am deeply concerned that most conservatives that are truely conservative deep down will not follow the new grassroots emergence if Newt continues to be the blowhard he has been lately. Newt get out of the way, let the grassroots speak. You had your chance, and you let Clinton overtax us. If you had focused more on grassroots than your personal drama this country would be in better shape tax wise. Reagan was wise enough to fight, know what was best and lived it.
What you will find if you look at my twitter is I am not a follower of Newt, nansen a normal gal was near the top of the #TCOT, KarlRove was the top one. Karl has been consistently conservative.
Grassroots is the future of our country, liberal or conservative. If someone is not listening to the common call throw them out!
